Beginners 1

An introduction to the fundamentals of yoga. The course covers fundamental yoga postures, movement, breathing, concentration and yogic philosophy.
If you are completely new to yoga or looking to return to yoga practice after some time, this course is right for you.

Tuesdays          5.30 - 7pm      starts 17th Jan for 10 weeks               (with Lila)
Wednesdays     9.30 - 11am     starts 25th Jan for 10 weeks              (with Lila)
Thursdays        7.30 - 9pm       starts 2nd Feb for 10 weeks               (with Lila)

 

Cost: $170 / $150 concession.

Starting Yoga classes may feel somewhat daunting if you have not done it before so please feel free to call and talk to one of our teachers if you have any questions before starting yoga.

Beginners 2

Continuing the yoga path, this course introduces new postures and refines alignment of the fundamental yoga postures.
Also covers pranayama exercises and meditation techniques.
Ideal for students who concluded a Beginners 1 course and for any student wishing to review alignment and technique.

Specific Focus Courses: Inversions

Short course (6 weeks) focussing on inversions.

Inversions require balance, strength, and a willingness to be upside down.

In this course we will start by working our bodies in preparation for the
 practice of inversions and progress to learn the proper technique required
for headstand, shoulderstand, pincha mayurasana, and handstand. Students will receive individual attention in order to advance at their own
 pace without any pressure.
If you already practice inversions, this course may offer you tools to refine
 your practice, making it safer and sustainable.
Suitable for students with at least one year of regular yoga practice.

Heart of Yoga Course

Using an integrated approach of asana, pranayama, bandhas, chanting, philosophy and meditation we will explore ways of moving and being that reveal our spacious, open self.
Each week we will draw on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras for inspiration, to explore how all the techniques of our practice can reveal our essence.
The heart of yoga is your own heart, intimately connected with all of life.
For students with at least one year of yoga experience.

Wednesdays     6.15 - 8pm           starts 11th Jan               (with Anahata)
This is course will run continuously throughout the year. Students can join at any time in blocks of 10 or 6 weeks.

Meditation & Restorative Yoga

This course explores the art and techniques of meditation combined with restorative postures.
Restorative postures are supported, restful postures that soothe the nervous system and deeply nourish our inner being.
Through meditation and restorative yoga we work with our resistance and conditioning to restore our connection with our inner beingness.
Experiencing this inner presence in a genuine way can be a life-changing experience.
This class is for students who want to begin or deepen their meditation practice.
It is also useful for those who need a gentler practice and is an excellent complement to an active practice.

Pre-Natal Yoga

To prepare for birth, women need to find a balance of strength and surrender in body, mind, heart and spirit.
Pre-natal yoga classes emphasize an active flowing style of yoga, breathing, pelvic floor exercises and deep relaxation that sensitively helps women achieve a natural, empowered and joyful birth experience.
